Do Not Judge Others Until You Do This
Not again. This morning I read someone posted a news from BBC: Gunmen have shot dead 12 people at the Paris office of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in an apparent militant Islamist attack.
I personally don’t like Charlie Hebdo, they created several cartoons that insulted the Prophet Muhammad, but what’s more insulting to the Prophet is to murder people in his name. We, as muslims, should honor the Prophet by following his teachings and practices, not by killing others.
“Do not judge others until you stand in their place.” -Proverb
I was not muslim. I chose Islam when I was 15. It’s insane if I chose a belief that promotes violence. It’s easier to just believe what people say, but you need to verify things people say. If you read or study the life of the Prophet Muhammad, you’d agree that the Paris shooting was not Islamic. Groups like ISIS is far from the teachings of the Prophet. Suicide bombs were not bringing any Islamic values. It’s sad to experience generalization of Islam as a violence religion from people, but that’s the reality that I as a muslim need to live in. I wish people don’t judge us before they stand in our place.
