Put It Into a Context, and You Might Have a Meaningless Functionality

I’ve seen a lot of QR codes at public spaces, but I think I only made a scan once or twice. This QR code was at Jurong East MRT platform. I cared more about the train and the crowd, trying not to be squeezed when entering the train.

That QR code is functional, but when you put it into the context, its functionality is meaningless. If there’s crowd like what I saw this morning, how would people scan the code? Take a queue, and waiting for others to scan?

Again, I always remind myself: “Don’t criticize unless you can offer a solution,” so I think having a short URL printed there would be better. Multiple people can put the URL into their browser at the same time.
