Moving objects always attract our attention. It also matches our mental models because it adheres to the law of physics. Twelve Basic Principles of Animation is a set of principles of animation introduced by the Disney animators Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas that can help you understand more about animation, and then you can adopt those principles to the interface design.

The search bar by Igor can be improved by adding Squash & Strech and Anticipation principles. I will create my own version of that search field later. I found an interesting Javascript animation platform: GreenSock Animation Platform (GSAP), in case you’re interested to apply animation to your interface. It’s an awesome platform. You can try the demo first.
